March 2013 Card Kit Swap

I have had my four cards done for about a week, but life happened and I didn't get to my post until now. Susan was in charge of this month's card kit and she provided us with a lot of fun matching pieces. (Too bad I forgot to take a picture of the kit before I mangled it!) Hope you enjoy the cards I made!

Check out the blogs of the other ladies and see how they used Susan's card kit!! Cheers All!!

February 2013 Card Kit Swap

Welcome to the Feb 2013 Card Kit Swap Creation Demonstration! We started a new group this month. There are six of us ladies this time (there were only 4 last time). It is fun to see how each participant makes such different & unique cards using the same materials!

The Card Swap Feb - Jul 2013 Guidelines:
  • Hostess sends out card kits by the 1st of the month. (Obviously, I'll be a little late this month.)
  • Swap participants post cards before the end of the month on their blog. I'd appreciate it if you update your blog post to include links to the other players as the posts go up.
  • Each kit should contain enough supplies to make 3-4 cards. You can include envelopes, but it isn't necessary.
  • Include both paper and embellishments.
  • Supplies should be from your stash, but kits should be all the same (or the same as possible). One purpose of this swap is to use up our stash, not spend more $. Here are some examples:
    • If you had a sheet of stickers or chipboard that you want to include, then just include a similar amount in each kit.
    • Look at the current Bella Blvd as an example, they have a birthday boy and birthday girl collection that are similar. If someone had both of those papers in their stash, it would be totally fine to send out half boy kits and half girl kits as long as they had similar contents (same # of papers, card stock, embellishments, etc). I just didn't want one person to get pinks with buttons, another to get blues with brads and flowers, another to get ribbons, and another to get none of them. Know what I mean?
  • The cards you make should include at least 50% swap materials. You can always add additional embellishments, pp, etc. from your stash.
  • Have fun!
Here is a look at the Feb kit:

Here are the 3 cards and one tag I created:

Here they are individually:
It comes as no surprise that I made a card using an owl image:) The little heart on the butt of the owl is so cute! Note that I used the silver card base and punched a circle out of the silver to mat the stamped image. The white circle is just one of the doilies trimmed down!!

Snuck another little owl in...i couldn't help it :) Still need to work on my stamping with white ink skills.

This hippo makes me smile :)

This was a "bonus" project. I used the tag that the washi tape and ribbon was provided on and created a pretty pastel colored butterfly themed tag. I used distress stains & inks on the card and around the little ticket piece. I also stamped the butterfly strip twice to fill the whole tag side.

Hope you enjoyed the creations :) If you want to see what the other ladies created head on over to their web pages:

Birthday Spinner Card

While working late last week I decided to listen to a few of Mary's videos from Cardz TV

One of them was a spinner card and suddenly I was hit with a creative idea. Why not use my Jaded Blossom stamps and create a spinner birthday card.

I LOVE the Jaded Blossom cupcake. Okay, who am I kidding,  I LOVE all of their stamps.

This is the end result:

I used the Wild Card cartridge, pinwheel on page 51. Set @ 5 ½.

Jaded Blossom stamps from the "Sweet Birthday Wishes" and "Hey Cupcake" sets

Gems from my stash and the brad I "borrowed" from  my daughter's stash :)

It is hard to tell in this picture, but the paper is purple.  This card will be sent to Nana Karen who is a Red Hat Lady and their colors are purple and red.

Thanks for visiting~~Katie Sr.

January 2013 Card Kit Swap

It's that time of the month again: Card Kit Swap Creation Demonstration Time!!

First pic is of the kit that was mailed to me:
Next up is a look at all three cards I made:
Had to have my usual OWL CARD...I think this would be a cute baby girl card:
Trying for a more masculine feel with this "time" centered card:
Lastly is my card using white chalk ink..not my best card and I didn't do well w/ my inking but hey, you can't say I don't try new things:
Thanks for stopping by! Happy 2013!

Dec 2012 Card Kit Swap

I was the hostess of the third month card kit swap. I had the kits mailed out on time and the stuff looked cute...but I failed to take a picture of the goodies in the kit. This post will only have the cards...hopefully one of the other ladies took a picture of the kits I mailed and I can link to it :) My cards all have Spanish Greetings--because I love Spanish Greeting...and I had to have an Owl Card :)

Wishing you an amazing 2013!! Happy Crafting!!

Nov 2012 Card Kit Swap

The second month of the card kit swap is almost over. Susan provided the goodies for this month's swap. She challenged us to make the four cards and a scrapbook layout, even enticing us with more goodies if we completed the layout. Unfortunetly, I am not going to get a layout done because I am busy with too many other crafty projects. I did complete my four cards though!!

Here is a picture of the goodies Susan mailed us:
With her goodies I made these four cards:

Here is a closer look at each of them:

I like the tiny dots on the butterfly card and the red glitter glue eyes on the owl couple :) Now I need to get the packets together for the four of us for December since I am hosting that month...better get things in gear! Happy Crafting!!
