Dec 2012 Card Kit Swap

I was the hostess of the third month card kit swap. I had the kits mailed out on time and the stuff looked cute...but I failed to take a picture of the goodies in the kit. This post will only have the cards...hopefully one of the other ladies took a picture of the kits I mailed and I can link to it :) My cards all have Spanish Greetings--because I love Spanish Greeting...and I had to have an Owl Card :)

Nov 2012 Card Kit Swap

The second month of the card kit swap is almost over. Susan provided the goodies for this month's swap. She challenged us to make the four cards and a scrapbook layout, even enticing us with more goodies if we completed the layout. Unfortunetly, I am not going to get a layout done because I am busy with too many other crafty projects. I did complete my four cards though!!

I like the tiny dots on the butterfly card and the red glitter glue eyes on the owl couple :) Now I need to get the packets together for the four of us for December since I am hosting that month...better get things in gear! Happy Crafting!!

It is large because I have a bunch of extra CostCo envelopes.

Oct 2012 Card Kit Swap

Trying something new. A crafty friend of mine recommended I participate in a card kit swap. Now I was thinking we would just swap cards with eachother, but turns out we are doing more of a card material swap...and I like it!! Each of the four participants is a "hostess" for a month, meaning they mail an envelope to the other three participants containing enough card materials to make 3-4 cards. The interesting thing is what creations we will make using our own craft stash and the goodies from the monthly swap. Below is a picture of the Oct 2012 card material:

With these goodies I made these three cards:

Can't wait to see what the other three ladies make with their card material...

Getting a little organized

Katie and I figured that since we were launching the blog and crafting more, that we need a better system to organize our Cricut carts. The carts all live at Katie Sr.'s house and I have the gypsy. We live close by and that makes it is easy to run back and forth. 

We found the Art Bin Cricut Cart organizer at Beverly's (Joanne's has them and I am pretty sure that Micheal's does as well).  Originally the carts were divided up by who owned them (Katie Sr. in one and Katie Jr. in another).  We did initial them, but it was had to find carts that way.

So on Saturday, after coffee and donuts, we got to work. We alphabetized ALL of the carts ( see picture below),

Made a master list, a wish list, a bin list and numbered the bins .

Now when Katie Sr. pulls out a bin,  she know what carts are in there (and makes it easier to find when I need them).

 Of course when we buy more carts we have to move things around, but this works for us. Thank you for stopping by.~~Katie Jr.

Back to School Banner

I am really into making banners.  This is one I put together to celebrate Genevieve going back to school.  Her school colors are red, black and white.  I was actually able to put it together in about 2 hours!  Enjoy. ~~ Katie Sr.

Working out the kinks!!!

Well I have gone and done it.  I have started a blog.  (for Katie and I). Now to figure out how to do this, make it awesome and take over the world!!!. 

I am just kidding about taking over the world.  :)
